How Certified Nursing Assistant Classes Can Help In Becoming a CNA by David Patullo

Certified nursing assistants are the frontline nurses. They are in direct contact with patients and work under the supervision of registered nurses. These nurses do not know much about the medical science but they are well trained to take care of the patients as well as some basic medical knowledge. The main duty of the nursing assistant is to check and keep the record of patient's vital sign, they closely monitor the patient and if any unexpected change occurs they report to the registered nurse. It is their duty to check that if the condition of the patient is getting better or worse, moreover they also monitors patient for any side effect of the given medicine. Apart from monitoring they are required to take care of patient's hygiene and food. They also have to help the patient in bed pan, bed bathing feeding and may other similar tasks.

You can become a CNA after attending certified nursing assistant classes for some weeks. There are many colleges offering classes for CNA training. You can easily find these colleges if you will search for them on the internet and you can also find one of the accredited schools by visiting the states board of nursing. It is advised that before taking the admission, one should check that the institute is registered and approved by the government to provide CNA training classes. These schools and colleges train their students very well and conduct several mock exams so that they can perform well in the final exam, this helps the institutes to build their name and attract more students.

You can also join the certified nursing assistant classes on the internet; this will enable you to take your class in your office or in the comfortable environment of your home. If you do not have much money to go to the institute or join the classes online you can simply go to a nursing home which is offering certified nursing assistant classes for free. These nursing homes do not charge you anything but they make you sign a contract which will bound you to work with that nursing home for a certain time period.

After completing your training, you are required to appear in an exam. This exam is divided in two sections; the first section has 50 MCQs to test your theoretical knowledge and for the second section you will be sent to a ward to check your practical skills. During your practical exam you will also be tested for working under stressful conditions.

After passing the exam you will become a certified nursing assistant and can start earning by working in hospitals, nursing homes or private clinics. A nursing assistant gets a job very easily with quiet a high pay scale. A nurse working in hospital works for five shift every week with each shift of eight hours. These shifts change every day between morning, evening and night shifts. Sometimes they also have to work on the weekends but in that case they get two other week days to rest.
