What is an autoclave sterilizer? It is one of the most important devices in the medical field. Autoclaves are used in sterilization. It is an.. Autoclaves are based on the principal that the boiling point of water increases when it is below pressure. The benefit of using it is that it can reach temperatures higher than boiling water alone, so it can kill bacteria and bacterial spores. It creates an environment so hot that no form of life (micro-organisms) could survive, ensuring the instruments become sterilized. Typically instruments are placed inside self-sealing sterilization pouches, with external indicators which signal if a sterile environment was reached during the autoclave process. An autoclave works by removing the air from the environment. It heats the medical instruments to a temperature above 121C-134C and by heating; it’s able to kill the hazardous micro-organisms.
The process is almost the same with what you can find on the process of a pressure cooking. To ensure the sterility and to prevent injury caused by human error, the door of a stand-alone autoclave is locked during operation. Keep in mind that autoclave sterilizer cannot sterilize plastics because they welt in intense heat. There are many benefits of using autoclave sterilizers; they allow materials to be sterilized within a qualified short time frame without the use of reagents. It also allows substances such as surgical and dental equipment to be recycled. Therefore, autoclaving is an ecologically friendly option.
What is an Otoscope? It’s a medical instrument used to examine the ear. It can also be defined as a medical tool (is a visual magnifying device with a built-in light used by doctors in the exam room) which allows doctors to look inside the ears of their patients. In some regions, the device is known as an auriscope. The procedure of studying the ear and its functions in a patient, using the medical device, is called otoscopy. Video otoscope has a very tiny video camera that transmits images to a television screen. These scopes use fiber optics to transmit a very bright light that illuminates the ear canal. In addition, video otoscopes have a working channel that allows the ear to be irrigated and vacuumed dry to help remove debris that can cover important structures or changes within the ear. The process of using a video otoscope is called as Video otoscopy. With the advent of video otoscopy, the doctors are able to see in the ear much better than a traditional hand held otoscope.
