Getting the right supplies for a first aid kit is nessesary if you have to administer emergency first aid or CPR. Everyone should keep a first aid kit in their homes, cars and even travel with one. You never know what type of situation could arise.

Though you might know that you need to have first aid supplies at home, you might not know which supplies you need to have on hand. Learning what supplies will be most handy in an emergency situation can you prepare yourself and your family for injuries and accidents. These basic first aid supplies are a must to carry in your car, have immediately on hand at home or the office.

For Cuts and Scrapes

Since cutting yourself is the most likely scenario, you will want to make sure your first aid supplies include a variety of bandages, antiseptic wipes and creams, as well as wrap bandages. You need to have the proper equipment on hand to effectively clean and dress the wound to avoid possible infections. If you have a large wound. You should have a butterfly bandage on hand to keep the wound closed until you can get proper medical attention.

For Burns and Big Bites

When you are buying first aid supplies for your home, you will also want to include a tube or jar of burn ointment as well as cortisone treatments.
